Ntobeko Majola

Managing Director

A trailblazer in Corporate Social Investment, Majola serves as the driving force behind LembeD ‘s innovative approach to social development. Armed with a decade of experience in the corporate social investment space and an honours degree in Development Studies from Wits University, she is uniquely positioned to lead the company into a new era of impactful social development.

 

Currently reading towards a master’s degree in histories of the Global South, Majola’s academic journey, including among others, attainment of an undergraduate degree in Political Science, a Programme & Project Management Certificate from Wits Business School, a Sales & Marketing Course from Damelin and a 3-year national diploma in Journalism from the Durban University of Technology – demonstrate determination and resilience. Leveraging her personality traits of tenacity, excellence, compassion, love of people and go-getter ambition, Majola, has built a formidable team of professionally and socially apt females behind a vision to advance our government’s bold developmental agenda which the agency hopes will extend not only to the sub-Saharan region, but the continent of Africa at large.

 

Majola successfully navigated challenges of the substandard Bantu education offered to natives residing in low-income communities herself in the eighties. It is this lived experience coupled with her natural passion and flair of advocacy for inclusion that make her an asset to the agency. Her devotion towards building additional channels and conduits to positively position the continent to realise its millennium development goals has seen her strategically weaponize education to fight the scourge of joblessness and poverty.

Nqobile Bhengu

Head: Financial and Logistics Management

Bhengu is currently reading towards a Bachelor of Accounting degree from
IIE Varsity College. She holds a National Diploma in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg and a certificate in Business Education from the Durban University of Technology. Due to her comprehensive background in procurement, supply chain management and credit control/accounting she is able to bring expertise to the agency’s bid administration and logistical support processes aptly.

 

She excels in records management, stakeholder liaison and facilitating procurement activities. Additionally, her proficiency extends to credit control and accounting, enabling her to reconcile and balance financial reports accurately. Bhengu’s ability to promptly detect and address irregular business practices makes her an invaluable addition to LembeD; an entity with a high regard for excellence in all matters ‘corporate governance’ and a zero intolerance for financial mismanagement.

Dr. Celia Matanga

Executive Director: Strategy and Technology

Visionary Leader in Educational Transformation

 

Armed with a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, Dr Matanga embodies the belief that meaningful learning must extend beyond the classroom and permeate entire organizations and communities. Her academic journey is a masterclass in perseverance and purpose. From a Diploma in Education and a BSc in Computer Science (Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe to an MBA and an Advanced Diploma in Global Business Services (Hackett Institute), she has consistently sought to deepen her ability to drive impactful solutions in the public, private, and humanitarian sectors.

 

A champion of holistic development, Dr Matanga’s approach to learning integrates people, systems, and strategic intent. Her career has seen her leading digital and cultural transformations across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, including groundbreaking work in HR technology, governance, and AI adoption. From optimizing complex enterprise platforms like Workday to orchestrating change in under-resourced communities, she blends analytical precision with a passion for empowerment.

 

Having worked with organizations such as the United Nations-DESA, Barclays Africa, and Genpact, she is both a visionary strategist and a practical executor. She believes that education is not merely about knowledge acquisition—it is about unlocking potential, shaping environments, and instilling a lifelong hunger for growth. She brings to Lembe-D a rare combination of academic rigor, systems thinking, and a deeply human-centred approach to leadership. She sees learning as a sacred responsibility—one that should prepare learners of all ages to thrive, contribute, and lead in a complex, ever-changing world

Ms. Thando Sibiya

Director: Marketing and Projects

Strategic Operations & Communications Leader

 

Thando is a holder of one of the most prestigious qualifications in executive training from the Gordon Institute of Business Science’s (GIBS), the International Executive Development Programme for Women and the International Leadership Development Programme. Not prepared to allow any circumstance to curtail her effort to educate herself after being forced to abandon her studies towards her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing, halfway through the degree – due to her parent’s inability to pay her school fees. Sibiya secured a bursary and pursued a 3-year Public Relations Management qualification from the Durban University of Technology, which she successfully completed with honours.

 

Before venturing to join the world of entrepreneurship and social activism; sharing her skills with social development agencies such as Lembe-D, she worked for rail giant Autopax as an executive manager of operations and marketing. She is a prolific leader and communicator, boasts exceptional presentation, organizational and project management skills with an ability to work on numerous projects at any one time when required. Her innate ability to communicate well with diverse groups of individuals across all levels of management and junior employees alike makes her an invaluable asset to our Lembe-D.
